New Home Sales Down 1.7% in December

The U.S. Government is reporting that sales of new single-family houses in December, 2025 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 745k, which is 1.7% lower than November’s revised rate and is 3.8% higher than one year ago. The median sales price of new houses sold in December was $414,400 with an average sales price of $532,600. There were an estimated 472k new houses for sale at the end of December representing an 7.6-month supply at the current sales rate.
